PURPOSE:
To provide a $200,000 grant of Parks and Recreation Bond Funds to the Van Dyke Performance Space, LLC ("VDPS") to complete the improvements to the interior space of the leased premises at Room 100 of the Cultural Center Complex located 200 North Davie Street in Greensboro, North Carolina.

BACKGROUND:
The VDPS, a North Carolina limited liability company, leases from the City a Rehearsal Room, Room 100, in the Greensboro Cultural Center Complex. VDPS is asking the City for a grant in the amount of $200,000 complete the construction of the interior performance space.

The Greensboro Cultural Center Complex is a city-owned building that houses nonprofit arts groups, and the new performance space will expand the northeast corner of the building and face LeBauer City Park. The space will offer movable seating and an adaptable stage to accommodate professional performances of dance, theater, music and provide rental space creating additional revenue opportunity.

BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding is available through the Parks and Recreation bond funds approved by the voters in 2006. A budget adjustment is required to move funding into the correct accounts.
