PURPOSE:
City Council approval is requested to convey a utility easement to Duke Energy in order for them to install approximately 70 feet of primary cable and a transformer to supply power to a generator and switch gear to feed the North Buffalo Water Reclamation Facility located at 2199 White Street, Parcel #0079176.
BACKGROUND:
The Water Resources Department is installing a new generator at North Buffalo Water Reclamation that will require the installation of electrical service and a transformer. Duke Energy will require an easement to install the transformer and a new underground line on the site.
This easement is an encumbrance on City property and City Council approval is required for the transaction.
BUDGET IMPACT:
No funds are required, and there is no budget impact.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Property Management Section of the Engineering & Inspections Department recommends the approval of this acquisition.
