PURPOSE:
Ordinance will amend the Equipment Services Fund Capital Outlay budget to provide funding for the purchase of 5 pieces of equipment for the Water Resources Department.
BACKGROUND:
The Water Resources Department budget includes funding for the purchase of a new backhoe, backhoe trailer, excavator, and two pickup trucks and will transfer the funds to reimburse the Equipment Services Fund after the vehicles are purchased. The backhoe and backhoe trailer will be used for a variety of projects and shared between crews. The excavator is a medium sized excavator that will be used for a variety of projects and easier to deploy quickly in emergency situations. The pickup trucks will support the ongoing and projects at TZ Osborne.
BUDGET IMPACT:
There is no net budget impact to the organization. The Water Resources Department has the funds budgeted to purchase the vehicles and will transfer the funds to Equipment Services after the equipment is purchased.
A budget adjustment is required to move funding to the appropriate transfer account in Water Resources to complete this process.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Budget & Evaluation and Water Resources Departments request that City Council approve the attached ordinance amending the Equipment Services Fund.
