PURPOSE:
City Council approval is requested to convey a utility easement to Duke Energy in order for them to install a new electrical power service at the new location of a community building located at 1500-1502 Dans Road, Parcel Number 0079825.
BACKGROUND:
The Parks and Recreation Department is constructing a new building that needs electrical service installed for the facility which also requires a new transformer. Duke Energy requires an easement to install a transformer and a new underground line on the site.
Since the easement is an encumbrance on City property, City Council approval is required for the transaction.
BUDGET IMPACT:
No funds are required, and there is no budget impact.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Property Management Section of the Engineering & Inspections Department recommends approval of this acquisition.
