PURPOSE:
City Council consideration is requested for a budget ordinance appropriating $275,098 from the FY 15-16 Community Housing Development Block Grant program income funds for affordable housing programs.
BACKGROUND:
The Neighborhood Development Department’s budget as proposed to City Council in May 2016 included the use of Community Development Block Grant funds from the entitlement grant for fiscal year 2016-2017 programs. The additional Community Development Block Grant funds included in this ordinance are from program income sources and will support:
• Assistance for Healthy Homes Emergency Repair
• Assistance for Citywide Rehabilitation
• Program Administration
BUDGET IMPACT:
Community Development Block Grant funds will be appropriated as per the attached ordinance.

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
City Council is requested to approve the budget ordinance appropriating $275,098 from the Community Development Block Grant program income funds for affordable housing programs.
