PURPOSE:

United Healthcare (UHC) has requested a traffic signal at the intersection of Elm Street and the UHC driveway and has agreed to fund the installation of this signal.  A budget ordinance must be approved to establish the budget for this project. 

 

BACKGROUND:

United Healthcare (UHC) has requested a traffic signal at the intersection of Elm Street and the UHC driveway.  The Transportation Department conducted a traffic analysis and agreed to the installation.  UHC will fund the purchase and installation of the equipment and will grant Transportation access to any signal equipment that is placed outside of the public right of way or common areas for the purpose of installation and the maintenance of said equipment. 

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

UHC will fund the full cost of this project totaling $46,468.  Funding for this project will be budgeted in the following General Fund Transportation Signals account: 101-4515-02.

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

The Transportation Department recommends and requests City Council approve the attached ordinance establishing the budget for signal installation at Elm Street and United Healthcare Driveway.
