PURPOSE:
The Property Management Section of Engineering & Inspections Department is in the process of taking in designated drainageway and open space as described on an approved and recorded subdivision plat. Approval of the acceptance by City Council is requested.

BACKGROUND:
Some subdivision plats require that drainageway and open space areas be dedicated to the City and the public in order to meet planning guidelines. The City has the option of accepting these for ownership. The developer for this project is CEG Friendly Manor, LLC who has agreed to provide a deed of dedication for this land. The indicated drainageway and open space area on this plat will become City owner property. This was reviewed and accepted by the Parks and Recreation Department following discussion with both Planning and Water Resources. The Parks and Recreation Commission approved the recommendation to accept the dedicated drainageway and open space area on June 8, 2016.

The subject property is located at 503 Arrowhead Drive, parcel #0042354 (3.95 acres), and the subdivision plat is Plat book 154 Page 047. The property is zoned CU-RM-12.

BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding in the amount of $26.00 for the Guilford County Register of Deeds recording fees are budgeted in the Parks and Recreation Department Account #101-5029-01.5288. Funding for the minimal maintenance of the drainageway and open space area is currently budgeted in the Field Operations Right-of Way maintenance budget.
