PURPOSE:
City Council approval is requested to convey a permanent utility easement to Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC in order for them to install a new ductbank across LeBauer Park.
BACKGROUND:
LeBauer Park is located at 208 N. Davie Street - Parcel #0000840. Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC requires a permanent utility easement to facilitate the new ductbank (a set of underground conduit for power lines).
Since the permanent utility easement is an encumbrance on City property, City Council approval is required for this transaction.
BUDGET IMPACT:
No funds are required, and there is no budget impact.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
Engineering & Inspections and Parks & Recreation Departments recommend that City council approve the conveyance of the permanent utility easement to Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC so they can install and maintain the ductbank across LeBauer Park.
