PURPOSE:
Water Resources is requesting a change order to contract 2013-1280 related to the Rock Creek Lift Station (LS) project to provide construction administration services and coordination efforts tied to the construction of improvements and upgrades at the Rock Creek LS. In order to provide adequate construction phase services, approval of a contract change order is requested.
BACKGROUND:
The City authorized professional services contract 2013-1280 with Arcadis G&M Of North Carolina, Inc. in the amount of $128,400 to provide construction administration services for Rock Creek LS. Rock Creek LS is part of the Eastern Area Projects, which also include Stewart Mill LS and Youngs Mill Road Force Main. The Rock Creek LS project entails upgrading the pumps and controls and installing bypass pumping infrastructure. The project is needed to provide additional sewer capacity to eastern areas of Greensboro in support of future development.
To realize construction efficiencies and pricing both the Rock Creek LS and Stewart Mill LS are being bid as one construction contract with the construction for both stations running concurrently. As a result of additional bidding and project manual coordination services tied to combining the projects into one construction contract, Change Order No.1 in the amount of $98,600 was authorized. Change Order No. 2 provides for additional construction administration and coordinating efforts for the combined station project.
