PURPOSE:
The bids for Contract 2016-028 (re-roofing of the Service Center “A” building) have been received. In order for the work to proceed on this contract, City council approval is requested for award of the contract to Professional Roofing Services, Inc. in the amount of $336,300
BACKGROUND:
The Facilities Division of the Engineering & Inspections Department is in the process of replacing existing roofs on city buildings that have surpassed the useful life expectancy. These identified roofs have numerous water intrusion issues that require patching and maintenance after each rain event. Facilities advertised and conducted a bidding opportunity for all interested contractors to visit the site and obtain a bid package outlining the scope of work. On Tuesday March 29, 2016 bids were opened with the following results:
