PURPOSE:
The Water Resources Department is requesting approval of a service contract with Hazen and Sawyer, PC to Update the Water Reclamation Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) Procedures. In order for the work to commence, approval of a service contract with Hazen and Sawyer, PC is requested.
BACKGROUND:
Current LOTO procedure documents for the Water Reclamation Division of the Water Resources Department are outdated and do not adequately describe LOTO procedures for complex equipment such as the incinerators and medium voltage equipment. Hazen and Sawyer, PC will provide new updated LOTO procedures for the Water Reclamation Facilities in the new format recommended by the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), and include procedures for complex equipment and process units. Hazen and Sawyer, PC was selected for the on-call services contract based on their demonstrated capabilities and qualifications.
A minimum of 10% of the work will be performed by CriTek Engineering Group, an MBE company.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding for this project is budgeted in Water Resources Operations Fund account 501-7056-01.5613 in the amount of $158,000.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Water Resources Department recommends and requests that City Council approve this service contract for the Services to Update the Water Reclamation Lock Out Tag Out Procedures with Hazen and Sawyer, PC in the amount of $158,000.
