PURPOSE:
Public Safety Personnel and the City Address Coordinator have found that having two streets named Spring Oak is causing confusion with emergency response and service delivery and therefore initiated this changed. This request is to change Spring Oak Dr between Clarkson Road and Country Woods Lane to Carter Woods Drive.

BACKGROUND:
Spring Oak Drive and Spring Oak Court have the same address ranges and are located directly across Country Woods Lane from each other.

Spring Oak Drive was created on July 21, 1987 by the recording of the Country woods Subdivision plat (Map 7B) in Plat Book 86 on Page 75, is the newer of the two streets in question and has the least number of residents who would be affected by a street name change.

Planning sent a letter to all the residents and property owners notifying them of the need for the change and requesting suggestions for a new name, however no one responded.

The numerical address for properties along the street will not change.

The Planning Department will notify utility companies and various other service agencies of this change to minimize any inconvenience to property owners and residents.

This change is necessary in the interest of Public Safety and to minimize confusion in the delivery of goods and services and is in accordance with the Street Naming and Addressing Manual.

BUDGET IMPACT:
It is estimated that the cost to prepare and install two new street signs will be $500.00
