PURPOSE:
City Council is requested to consider construction of a sewer line extension on the basis of a Petition for Local Improvements. The proposed 8-inch sewer line extension is to provide service to the 1115 Pleasant Ridge Road property. City Council shall hold a Public Hearing to consider any property owners objections to the legality of authorizing the assessable sewer line improvement project in compliance with City Charter Section 6.140. City Council approval is required in order for the work to proceed.

BACKGROUND:
Per City Charter Section 6.136 & 137 a petition requesting sewer improvements was signed by the majority of the property owners who own a majority of the adjacent property frontage along the limits of the proposed Pleasant Ridge Road sewer improvement. The City Legal Department has verified the sufficiency of the petition and the project is being submitted to the City Council for its consideration. A Notice of Public Hearing for Local Improvements was mailed to the last known property owners on October 2, 2015 and advertised on October 8, 2015. This item was referred to Council by the Infrastructure Committee.

BUDGET IMPACT:
The estimated construction cost of this project is $70,000. The properties will be assessed at $16.00 per front foot for the sewer line as allowed by City Charter Section 6.131.
