PURPOSE:
Council is being requested to approve Change Order no. 1 for construction of Fire Station No. 59. This change order is related to the items listed in the “Description of Changes Summary” attached.
BACKGROUND:
Fire Station no. 59 is a new Station to be located at Summit Avenue and Highway 29 in the Reedy Fork community. The Fire Station was built in response to the growing needs in the area and City initiated annexation plans. The new Station is approximately 12,000 square feet.
During the course of the project, several items became evident that generated a combination of additional work and credits to the project. As a part of completion of the project and final closeout resolution, these items were identified and are indicated on the attached “Description of Changes” sheet for Council’s review. The attachment represents the resolution of credits from allowances which were included in the original contract, and remaining items which were addressed as a part of project completion. The summation of these items will result in an addition of $33,486.00.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The Greensboro Fire Department will provide funding from the following account numbers: 455-4005-01.6013
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Fire Department requests that Council approves Change Order #1 in the amount of $33,486.00.
