PURPOSE:
City Council approval is requested to authorize the City Manager to execute an extension to Arbor E&T, LLC, d/b/a ResCare Workforce Services Contract #2014-5402 in an amount not to exceed $1,900,000 to fund an extension of Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Adult and Dislocated Worker services through June 30, 2016.

BACKGROUND:
The Workforce Development Board/City of Greensboro has contracted with Arbor E&T, LLC, d/b/a ResCare Workforce Services to provide comprehensive workforce services for Adults and Dislocated Workers since October 2014. The original end date of this contract is September 30, 2015. Under Workforce Investment Act/Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act guidelines, the contractor is eligible for up to a twelve-month extension at the conclusion of the contract term.

ResCare Workforce Services has performed its contract responsibilities and met benchmarks at an acceptable level to date. On August 14, 2015, the Workforce Development Board (WDB) voted to extend the contract through June 30, 2016 at an additional cost not to exceed $1,900,000 for the period of October 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016.

BUDGET IMPACT:
Funds for this contract modification are budgeted in the following Office of Workforce Development Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act accounts. All funds to be utilized are US Department of Labor funds passed through the NC Department of Commerce. No General Revenue funds are requested:
