PURPOSE:
City Council approval is requested for Utility Reimbursement Agreement R-2413A with North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to support construction of a 16-inch and 12-inch water line betterment to be installed with NCDOT Project I-5110, construction of a highway to connect NC 68 to Bryan Boulevard.
BACKGROUND:
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is constructing a roadway project that will run from the existing Joseph M. Bryan Boulevard/Airport Parkway interchange near Piedmont Triad International Airport to NC 68. The project will be signed I-73 when complete, and will include construction of a taxiway bridge at PTIA that crosses the future I-73. City Council approval of a Utility Agreement is requested to support construction activities related to water quality assurance including construction of a 16-inch water line along NC 68 from Pleasant Ridge Road to Leabourne Road, and construction of a 12-inch water line along Pleasant Ridge Road from Brigham Road to NC 68.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funds are budgeted in Water Resources Capital Improvements Fund account 503-7025-01.6016 A16034 in the amount of $2,610,192.79. A budget adjustment is needed to use this account.
