PURPOSE:
The Greensboro Police Department wishes to continue its contractual relationship with Omnilinks Systems, Inc. The police department has satisfactorily employed Omnilinks Systems, Inc for specialized services since 2011 and the department desires to continue the relationship. The new contract is for a one year period (7/1/15-6/30/16) with a total value of $175,000. The contract is presented to Greensboro City Council in accordance with current city fiscal procedures.
BACKGROUND:
Omnilinks Systems Inc. provides services to the Greensboro Police Department for their priority offender electronic monitoring program. The company provides monitoring devices and related services of hosting and maintenance of the software application to monitor the location of such devices. The program uses the mobile devices as requested by the City to track and/or monitor offenders through the software application.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The contract will be funded with Greensboro Police budget funds in the amount of $175,000 for the fiscal year and will be paid out of account 101351014.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is recommended that the City Council pass the resolution allowing the Greensboro Police Department to enter into a contract in the estimated amount of $175,000 for the period of July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016 with Omnilinks Systems Inc.
