PURPOSE:
The attached ordinance serves to amend the Cemeteries Operating Fund Budget to cover unanticipated expenses incurred during the current fiscal year. A budget ordinance needs to be approved to fund the additional expenses and revenues.
BACKGROUND:
The FY 14-15 Cemeteries Operating Fund Budget was adopted with expenses and revenues totaling $800,335. During the current fiscal year, cemeteries have experienced unexpected maintenance and repairs to multiple facilities that has led to additional expenses. Additional funds are necessary for continued operations for the remainder of the current fiscal year. Revenues received from cemetery fees and lot sales thus far for the year have been higher than the annual budgeted amount. The additional revenues that have been received will fund the proposed appropriations. No additional General Fund support is necessary.

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is requested and recommended that the City Council adopt the attached budget ordinance amending the Cemeteries Fund budget for FY 14-15.
