PURPOSE:
Greensboro Downtown Hotel, Inc. (GDH) has requested an encroachment agreement to use City right-of-way at 332 S. Greene Street. When public or private entities request to use the City's right-of-way, it is required that they secure approval by City Council.
 
BACKGROUND:
GDH approached the City for permission to install two metal canopies and two trees for the proposed Hampton Inn & Suites into City right-of-way. This includes one (1) canopy and two (2) trees within a four (4) foot landscape strip along W. McGee Street and a portion of a canopy at the intersection of W. McGee Street and S. Greene Street.
 
This encroachment has been reviewed and approved by Engineering & Inspections, Transportation, Water Resources, and Legal.
 
BUDGET IMPACT:
All expenses related to the installation, maintenance, and repair for this encroachment are the responsibility of GDH.
 
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
Engineering & Inspections recommends the approval of the encroachment which will allow GDH to use City right-of-way.
