PURPOSE:
The Property Management Section of the Engineering & Inspections Department is in the process of taking in designated drainageway and open space as described on an approved and recorded subdivision plat. This was reviewed and accepted by the Parks & Recreation Commission on May 14, 2014. Approval of the acceptance by City Council is requested.

BACKGROUND:
Some subdivision plats require that drainageway and open space areas be dedicated to the City and the public in order to meet planning guidelines. The City has the option of accepting these for ownership. The developer for this project is Revolutions Studios, LLC who has agreed to provide a deed of dedication for this land. The indicated drainageway and open space area on this plat will become city owned property.

The subject property is located at 2003 Yanceyville Street, parcel #0026779, (3.43 acres) and the subdivision plat is Plat book 150, Page 30. The property is zoned LI (Light Industrial).

BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding in the amount of $26.00 for the Guilford County Register of Deeds recording fees is budgeted in the Parks and Recreation Department Account #101-5029-01.5288.  Funding for the minimal maintenance of the open space and drainageway area is currently budgeted in the Field Operations Right-of-Way maintenance budget.

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Property Management Section of the Engineering & Inspections Department recommends approval of the acceptance of this dedication by deed.
