BACKGROUND:
North Carolina General Statutes authorize municipalities to enter into agreement with the NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT) for the installation, repair, operations, and maintenance of highway signs and markings, electric traffic signals and other traffic control devices on State Highway System streets within the Municipality. The attached agreement dictates the time frame in which performance review should take place, required response times to emergency responses, and maximum reimbursement rates for traffic signal maintenance.

BUDGET IMPACT:
The agreement sets a maximum limit on revenue received from NCDOT at $486,500. The FY 14-15 Budget includes $560,000 in State reimbursements for traffic control devices representing a decrease of $73,500.
