PURPOSE:
The attached ordinance serves to amend the General Fund budget and the Street and Sidewalk Capital Projects Fund budget. The ordinance totaling $353,659 will provide funds for the repaving of the Public Safety Training Facility drilling ground area in the amount of $80,109 and scheduled roof maintenance in the amount of $273,550 originally included in the FY 13-14 Adopted Budget.

BACKGROUND:
The FY 13-14 budget included funds designated for the repaving of the Public Safety Facility drilling ground area and a scheduled roof replacement project. Due to delays in awarding the bids in June, construction on the projects was not able to begin and the projects were not able to be encumbered prior to the end of the fiscal year. Funding designated in the FY 13-14 operating budget for these projects expired and returned to fund balance as of June 30th. Budgeted funds included in the FY 13-14 budget were not able to be encumbered for the resurfacing project before the close of the year. This ordinance will increase the General Fund budget by appropriating these funds from fund balance and setting them up in the appropriate account for FY 14-15. The funding for these projects have been previously appropriated, and no additional funding is necessary.

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is requested and recommended that the City Council adopt the attached budget ordinance amending the General Fund budget and the Street and Sidewalk Capit...
