PURPOSE:

Resolution will authorize execution of an amended agreement with the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to increase funding for College Road/New Garden Road Sidewalk Project by the City of Greensboro.

 

BACKGROUND:

C-5555 E College Road/New Garden Road Sidewalk Project includes constructing sidewalks where none exists along College Road from West Market Street to West Friendly Avenue and along New Garden Road form West Friendly Avenue to Ballinger Road. The additional CMAQ funds will be added to original allocation of federal TAP-DA Funds by the Greensboro Urban Area MPO. The MPO staff has coordinated with NCDOT to allocate additional CMAQ Funds carried over from a recently completed CMAQ project.

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

An additional $46,504 will be appropriated to the following Street and Sidewalk Capital Project Fund account: 401-4565-01.  The additional appropriation will be funded as follows:

 

$37,203                     Federal Grant (80%)

$9,301                                          Local Bond Funds (20%)

$46,504

 

A budget adjustment is required to move funding to the appropriate transfer account for the local match.

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

The Department of Transportation recommends and requests that City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute the amended agreement.
