PURPOSE:
The Greensboro Police Department wishes to continue its contractual relationship with Fields Consulting Group, Inc. The police department has satisfactorily employed Fields Consulting Group, Inc for specialized professional services since 2012 and the department desires to continue the relationship. The new contract is for a three year period (6/15/15-6/14/18) with a total value of $105,000. The contract is presented to Greensboro City Council in accordance with current city fiscal procedures.
BACKGROUND:
Fields Consulting Group, Inc. provides services to the Greensboro Police Department for the development, validation and administration of a customized promotional process for the ranks of Corporal, Sergeant and Lieutenant. The company strives to develop and administer public safety training and testing programs that are fair, that identify the most qualified candidates for selection and promotion, and are viewed as such by department leadership and by the candidates.
BUDGET IMPACT:
The contract will be funded with Greensboro Police budget funds in the amount of $35,000 for each of the three fiscal years (three year total of $105,000) and will be paid out of account 101354501.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
It is recommended that the City Council pass the resolution allowing the Greensboro Police Department to enter into a contract in the estimated amount of $105,000 for the period of June 15, 2015 through June 14, 2018 with Fields Consulting Group, Inc.
