PURPOSE:

The City’s Service Policy requires the approval of the governing board for service agreements that are $100,000.00 or higher annually. The attached lease agreement number 24757 between the City of Greensboro and Motorola for the Emergency Dispatch Consoles will be replacing the current expiring lease agreement number 23435.  In accordance with the City’s Service Policy, City Council authorization is required.

 

BACKGROUND:

In 2013, GM911 upgraded their Emergency Dispatch Consoles to replace obsolete equipment with Motorola to enhance the emergency response system. Maintaining and updating the equipment is essential for the ability of GM911 stay current with the emergency response systems.

 

BUDGET IMPACT:

All of the lease costs for the Emergency Dispatch Consoles will be paid from funds received under the NC State 911 Board funding.

 

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:

Guilford Metro 911 recommends and requests approval of the attached Resolution to issue a new leasing agreement with Motorola and the City of Greensboro.
