PURPOSE: City Council is being asked to consider and approve a proposed administrative amendment to the recently executed Guilford County Economic Development Alliance Agreement (see attached). The purpose of the amendment will be to allow each participating and funding local government entity the ability to appoint two (2) members to the business advisory council and, to help further diversify and broaden the overall business interests and expertise serving on this important council (see attached).
BACKGROUND: During the April 28th meeting of leadership group of the GCEDA, the leadership group discussed the proposed amendment and by majority vote, recommended that each participating partner of the GCDEA consider the amendment for adoption. If adopted by all participating partners, an amendment to the GCDEA agreement will be made during their next meeting on May 26, 2016 and City Council appointment of members could be made at the June 7, 2016 meeting of Council.
