PURPOSE:
The Greensboro Partnership is opening Co//ab, a new downtown Greensboro co-working, entrepreneurial, and higher education workspace.  The City of Greensboro Purchasing Division is requesting Council approval to donate surplus property in support of this initiative.

BACKGROUND:
In accordance with the requirements of North Carolina General Statute 160A-280, the Purchasing Division posted public notice on October 23, 2014 in the Greensboro News and Record of the intent to donate surplus property to a non-profit organization. Governing board approval is required to declare and donate the following surplus items to the Greensboro Partnership Co//ab:

(3) Desk chairs
(1) Round table (4')
(1) Copier/printer

BUDGET IMPACT:
These items are surplus, obsolete or unused and would normally be sold at public auction. Based on the sale of similar items, these items would have a total estimated surplus value of $50.

RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
We are requesting that Council declare these items as surplus and adopt a resolution approving the donation to Greensboro Partnership Co//ab.
