PURPOSE:
City Council is being requested to approve the contract extension for Corley Redfoot Architects, Inc. related to professional services for the construction of the Hilltop (Griffin) Recreation Center.
BACKGROUND:
The Parks and Recreation Department, along with the assistance from the Facilities Division, is in the process of developing the Marylene F. Griffin Community Park and Recreation Center into a multi-functional park facility. The first phase of the master plan included the construction of a recreation center, playground and associated parking. The City of Greensboro employed Corley Redfoot Architects, Inc. as the Lead Designer for this phase of the project, which was completed in 2014. Due to the extension of services beyond the original scope of work of the project, it was necessary to retain Corley Redfoot Architects to provide additional field and contract administration services in order to complete the project.
The cost attributed to these additional services is $24,669.00, as indicated in Attachment A, a proposal from Corley Redfoot Architects, Inc. dated August 25, 2015. This item was referred to Council by the General Government and Community Services Committees.

Funding for this contract is available in account 443-5010-01.5413
