PURPOSE:
To amend the Parks and Recreation Bond Fund for a contribution of $1,500,000 received from Action Greensboro for the downtown greenway project.
BACKGROUND:
The Parks and Recreation Bonds authorized in 2016 included funding for a downtown greenway. Development to date of this public private project has benefitted significantly from local donations and contributions.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Additional funding toward this project in the amount of $1,500,000 was received from Action Greensboro January 2020.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Parks and Recreation Department requests City Council approval of the attached budget ordinance amending the Parks and Recreation Bond Fund Capital Project Budget, in the amount of $1,500,000.
