PURPOSE:
David Lopez and Brenda Vazquez have petitioned for annexation of their property located at 3714 Desmond Drive. The City Council is required to hold a public hearing on this petition before considering its approval.
BACKGROUND:
This contiguous annexation is within the boundary of Growth Tier 1 on the Anticipated Growth Maps in the Comprehensive Plan.
City water is available by connecting to the 8-inch water line located within Desmond Drive. In order for this site to be served with water the owner would be responsible for all costs associated with extending and connecting to the public line. City Sewer is available by connecting to the 8-inch sewer line located within Desmond Drive approximately 130 feet to the south of the site. In order for this site to be served with sanitary sewer the owner would be responsible for all costs associated with extending and connecting to the public line.
The City's Fire Department notes that this site is currently served by County Station #55 on Hicone Road (north of the request). Upon annexation, County Station #55 will continue to serve the property due to an ongoing contract with Fire District 13. Service to this location will remain the same on single unit responses. On multi-unit responses, service will improve if annexed.
