PURPOSE:
Borum, Wade and Associates, P.A. (BWA) was selected to provide design services for the Mackay Road Widening Improvements in the amount of $195,460.00.
BACKGROUND:
The project entails providing design for: including storm drainage, sidewalks, curb and gutter, median islands, and asphalt pavement overlay from Atwater Drive to Williamsborough Lane.
Our twelve on-call professional services firms were considered for this project. Prime consideration was given to their past experience and performance with projects involving streetscape work, sidewalks, roadway configuration, traffic analysis, landscaping, utility design, and public participation. As a result of the analysis by the Transportation and Engineering & Inspections Departments, Borum, Wade and Associates, P.A. was selected for the project.
BWA’s team includes anticipated MBE participation of 9.5%; to be provided by Davenport Transportation Consulting, Winston-Salem, NC.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding for this contract will be budgeted in 2008 bond fund account 471-4502-31.5410. A budget adjustment will be required to move funds to the appropriate account.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Transportation and Engineering & Inspections Departments recommend and request award of the Mackay Road Widening Improvements to Borum, Wade and Associates, P.A. (BWA) in the amount of $195,460.00 and approve the associated budget adjustment.
