PURPOSE:
City Council approval is requested to convey a Permanent Utility Easement to Piedmont Natural Gas in order for Piedmont Natural Gas to replace a current gas line.
BACKGROUND:
The Permanent Utility Easement is required from the City of Greensboro in order to replace an existing gas line on the property.
The subject property is located at 5966 Lake Brandt Road, parcel #0089327 and 5953 Lake Brandt Road, parcel #0089346. This property is owned by the City of Greensboro.
The property is zoned PNR (Parkland and Natural Resource Area). The required Permanent Utility Easement conveyance is an area of 4,356 Sq. Ft. (.10 acre).
BUDGET IMPACT:
Piedmont Natural Gas will be paying the City of Greensboro $1,761.00 for this property. Revenue proceeds from this conveyance will be credited in the Water Resources Enterprise Fund, Account #501-0000-00.8633.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Property Management Section of the Engineering and Inspections Department recommends the approval of this conveyance.
That, the City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute an agreement with Piedmont Natural Gas for the conveyance of an easement of the hereinabove described City of Greensboro, Water Resources property in substantial conformity herewith and to execute closing documents; and
That, the Mayor is authorized to execute any deeds necessary to effectuate the closing of this approved transaction.
