PURPOSE:
The City of Greensboro Water Resources Department is requesting to enter into a construction management services contract with C2 Contractors, LLC to provide construction administration and RPR services for the Sanitary Sewer and Water Line Rehabilitation Project. City Council approval of a contract in the amount of $399,300 is requested.
BACKGROUND:
The Water Resources Department has over 1,500 miles of sanitary sewer lines and has a comprehensive sewer rehab program. As sewer lines age, pipes deteriorate, roots intrude into the sewer system and often times the service, lateral connections fail. The City has a goal of rehabilitating 1% of the sewer system by 2027. Rehabilitation methods include bursting, sliplining or cured in place pipe. Contract 2020-020 with Cajenn Construction & Rehabilitation Services, Inc. for the 2020 Sanitary Sewer and Water Line Rehabilitation Project was approved by City Council on October 20, 2020.
On August 21, 2020 the Executive Department issued a Request for Statement of Qualifications (RFQ) for On-Call Construction Manager Services. Eight firms submitted proposals by the September 30, 2020 deadline. The firms who submitted a proposal were AIM Green, LLC, C2 Contractors LLC, Hicaps, Inc., Jessup Company, PEG Contracting Inc., S&S Building and Development, LLC, Samet Corporation and Volkert, Inc.
