BACKGROUND:
Belk approached the City to install 80 feet of fiber optic lines beneath Green Valley Road to provide connectivity between the existing Belk Store at 600 Friendly Center Road and the newly constructed Belk Home Goods Store at 604 Green Valley Road.

This encroachment has been reviewed and approved by Engineering & Inspections, Transportation, Water Resources, and Legal.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Belk will be charged $140.00 annually at a rate of $1.75 per linear foot per Chapter 28.1 of the Greensboro Code of Ordinances. This revenue will be deposited into the City's General Fund. All expenses related to the installation, maintenance, and repair for this encroachment are the responsibility of Belk.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
Engineering & Inspections recommends the approval of the encroachment which will allow Belk to use City right-of-way.
