PURPOSE: Adoption of the Economic Development Focus Strategy approved by the Economic Development Committee at their December 13, 2016 meeting.
BACKGROUND: The Economic Development Committee of the City Council has been working with the City Manager and staff to develop a general framework for City Council to consider as a Focus Strategy to identify economic development priorities. On December 13, 2016 the Economic Development Committee approved a plan to establish Greensboro as a regional/state/national economic development leader and business expansion community of choice within five years.
The Economic Development Committee has requested that City Council adopt the Economic Development Focus Strategy and authorize implementation by the City Manager.
BUDGET IMPACT: This item will have no budget impact.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED: City Council is requested to consider adoption of the Economic Development Focus Strategy.
