PURPOSE:
A resolution needs to be approved authorizing an amended agreement with NCDOT to provide additional funding for EL-5101 DL Transit Oriented Sidewalks.
BACKGROUND:
The City is currently in the later stages of construction on this NCDOT supported transit oriented sidewalk project along Pisgah Church Road, Lees Chapel Road, and Yanceyville Street. Per City request, NCDOT has agreed to provide an amended agreement to support additional costs for the project. Under the amended agreement NCDOT will reimburse the City up to an additional $812,298 in federal funds. The City will provide a required additional local match of up to $203,074.
BUDGET IMPACT:
Funding for this project will increase as follows:
$ 812,298 (80%) Federal Funds
$ 203,074 (20%) Local Matching Funds
$1,015,372
Funding for the local match will come from 2008 Transportation Bond Fund account 471-4502-15.6401.
RECOMMENDATION / ACTION REQUESTED:
The Transportation Department recommends and requests approval of the attached resolution authorizing an amended agreement with NCDOT to provide additional funding for EL-5101 DL Transit Oriented Sidewalks.
