PURPOSE:
To grant an Encroachment Agreement in City right-of-way for the installation of approximately 200 LF of private sanitary sewer force main. When public or private entities request to use City right-of-way, it is required that they secure approval by City Council.

BACKGROUND:
Leoterra Development, Inc. approached the City in order to request placement of a sanitary sewer force main in City right-of-way. The force main will be used to provide sanitary service to the proposed self-storage site located at 4094 Battleground Avenue.
This encroachment involves installation of approximately 200 LF of sanitary sewer force main in the eastern end of Brass Cannon Court right of way in order to tie into the existing gravity sanitary sewer main. Attempts were made to acquire easements to provide sanitary sewer service via gravity sanitary sewer located within the properties to the east of this site, but no agreement with the surrounding property owners could be reached.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has already granted written permission to install the force main perpendicular across the right of way of Battleground Avenue.

BUDGET IMPACT:
There is no budget impact. All associated costs will be incurred by Leoterra Development, Inc.
